Getting to Harpers Ferry by Mass Transit

Parking in Harpers Ferry

Parking is limited, but attainable, in Lower Town Harpers Ferry in order to maintain the 18th and 19th century historical appearance of the town. Visitors who travel here by car can arrange parking through the National Park Service (NPS). Parking is available at the Cavalier Heights Entrance Station, Bolivar Heights, Maryland Heights, Harpers Ferry Train Station, and River Access Parking Lot. A shuttle bus is available from the Cavalier Heights Entrance Station. The NPS operates this shuttle from 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the summer and 5:45 p.m. in the winter. They are open year round except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year Day holidays. Please refer to the NPS website for further information.

    If you have the gumption for more you can stop by the Gazebo on Washington Street in Harpers Ferry Saturday, September 27th. 6:30 p.m. and Stomp Into Autumn with us!! Stomp Into Autumn is a free, open-air concert at 6:30 pm, Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Harpers Ferry Gazebo on Washington Street.
    It will feature the West Virginia band Daybreak, known for its modern bluegrass style and harmony. To add to the autumn flavor and family fun, s'mores will be available for purchase during the evening. The concert is sponsored by the Harpers Ferry-Bolivar Historic Town Foundation.
